The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
Theme: WPR

I am aware that this isn't a Sailor Moon site, but I really like to review other WPRs so here goes. To begin, splash images for pop-ups should be smaller than that. Less annoyance since some people don't like pop-ups to begin with. You don't even need to make this layout a pop-up. You should probably change it so as to annoy less visitors. I checked out the mirror, and funnily enough it's layout is better looking than the one you've got now. I really don't like this layout! What kind of requirement is 'Anime Site'? duh.
You keep repeating yourself. The name and version of the site are clearly stated in the graphic so there is no need for the welome message. There is also a lot of ego. 'this is MY wpr, i am the OWNER of this WPR!!!' dumbass. Sisters should be linked on the main page, I'm assuming you have more than one. Who cares how many reviews you have done? I've got over a hundred and Yumemiru has over two hundred. Who are you trying to impress? Ah, I figured out why your layout bothers me. I can see Van's body but his head is cut off. That's really disturbing. I also think it's another ego thing to have the owner's character featured in the layout. I did that twice, for IR's one year and when I made a big announcement. To have Hitomi featured is like 'hey look at me! I rock!' -.-
*kicks it* for some reason when I click the links, they don't want to show up. Loading time really sucks here! Okay, it's up now..the opening sentence of About is pretty farkin' obvious. 'this is a wpr that will review your site' yeah that's kinda what a WPR DOES. It's nice that you state right off the bat that you are harsh. Ah, you're one of those dorky places that needs to assign numbers to stuff. well, you get a 2/5 for laziness! You talk too much. There is no need to explain what you mean by grading content and layout. It's also impossible to know everything about an anime. That's a stupid requirement, for example, I know very little about the SuperS season yet I have a very good sailor moon site right here.
I really like the idea of grading on web-ettique, that's something most WPRs look at but not as it's own catefory. BUT I think you've got some stupid requirements. Nobody really NEEDS a dislaimer, cause it's farkin' obvious that they don't own sailor moon. It is also impossible to not have some stolen content. They no way in hell that I scanned the images I use for my sites. And since there is no way I could credit every site, I just I should be on your 'thieves' list. You are far too demanding in your grading, it's as if you expect every site to be cookie cutter perfect and all sites to look basically the same. BLAH.
God, I really hate the grading system. This crap about coding is implied in the layout section, you are repeating yourself again. Stop talking and get on with it! Also, your site's name...A site could have really great amazingly in depth content and have an ugly layout. I know you are refering to some cowboy movie dialogue, but still, you seem to be obsessed with putting stuff into tiny stone categories.
Why do I get the feeling that there will be a ton of irrational rules?.. yup. I scroll down and what is in the form? Date your site started. That means DICK ALL when grading a site. Are you saying if master of HTML and desgin started a site a week ago and submitted to you, it would make a difference in how you reviewed it? PAH. You also demand a link. A lot of people have a problem with that, I don't. How can I put this..
1DUH you need a website. Don't bother writing that! You only review sailor moon english dub? no manga? That's pretty restrictive. I hate sites that review various anime. It's all or one, pick something! sheesh.
2??? No fanart/fic sites? duh, all you have to do is not say anything about the actual fic or art. It's common sense. You are a SITE reviewer, not a fic reviewer, you aren't supposed to read the fics anyway. *sigh*
3No gay sites...*hits you* God, I really don't like this Hitomi person. ALL you have to say is 'no sex realted sites' and leave it at that. There is no need to distinguish between gay or straight themes. >_<
4You babble here. You also repeat yourself. Just get rid of this 'rule'.
5I understand why WPRs don't like sites to change during the review time, but it's an absurd rule. I would never ask someone to NOT work on their site for a week...I mean, how would you feel if I said because IR is reviewing GBU, you aren't allowed to add anything for a full week? It's pretty stupid.
6*shrugs*
7aaaaawww poor babies can't take a little criticism back?? you weaklings. Anyone willing to give it out but not take it is not worthy of owning a critique site. In layman's terms, you suck.
The other rules are shrugs as well. *yawn* is this review over yet? This site gets on my nerves. It has everything I dislike about certain WPRs.
There are way too many categories here. If a site is dead, why bother listing it at all? Just delete the link! ugh. Hmm, your reviews aren't that bad. Too short though, especially the dbz chick's work. *frustrated* why doesn't this page want to come up?! ARGH! skiiiiiiip.
Reviewer..who cares what grade you are in? or your color thing or image editor..this is a lot of horribly useless information. Especially your marital status, was that joke or something? Nobody likes reading profiles, it tells me nothing about yourselves.
These awards are ugly.
god, am I finished here yet?! Anyway, the tips section is really good, this is stuff I've said over and over in reviews. tum tee tum..
Ah, flames. So..you don't want people to flame and yet you post them and flame the person right back? riiight. Is anyone else sensing a complete lack of logic in this place? The one I'm reading seems to be a review, and well..hitomi, you are a hypocrite. you say it's not nice for people to flame you after getting a review, then you get a review you don't like and flame the person and her work. shiiit, if it was possible for me to like you less!
I'm fairly certain that 'disclaiming' isn't a word. Why are your link buttons all out of place? Wow, that's a really extensive list of WPRs..cool. I really think you should just delete your guestbook since it is nothing but a breeding ground for flames. hahah, I agree with what Arwen said..ahah you rock Arwen. Neko also has a good view about what reviews are, they are not flames but merely opinions.
Overall, it's pretty obvious that I didn't like this site one bit. The reviewing style SUCKS, you encourage flamewars, your reviews aren't that good and there isn't anything unique about this WPR. BLAH to you and yours.

Whoo! Aian is back! Sorry about the lack of Aian-wit for the last few reviews; there's little you can do when your CPU melts. Honestly, it did. I had to go like four weeks without a computer because of that. *sniffles* Oh the horror!

Splash - As stupid as it looks (*hefts a large energy cannon onto her shoulder and targets Van and Hitomi* Die! Die!) it's actually got a purpose. Look ma, it's a pop-up!

Layout - Plain white. No picture-- oh wait, it's still loading. Argh, no, no not them! Anyone but them! (can you tell how much I just _love_ Vision of Escaflowne? *gags*) Links are a bit hard to read on their background, but manage to look like they're carved into the rock. Interesting effect. Oh, hey, this is a review site. Didn't know that.

Places Aian Don't go - View, Sign, Sitey, Tips, Awards

About - Review grading. Gak. Point system. I suppose that's alright; if you've got a team of reviewers doing the same site, so you can get a point average of what everyone thinks, and therefore it's not based solely on a single person's opinion. Hmm, sounds like it is just a single reviewer doing that. Point/percentage grading can be a bit fuzzy. You can have a wonderful layout, great info, but if a server goes down uddenly and without warning (*coughenvy.nucough*) you could loose a good number of points because of it. Not a very good system, unless you take that into account... (which I would hope so. Especially with servers that do that alot. *glares evilly at said servers*)

Rules - Basic rules. Just wondering, do you take Shonen ai/Shoujo Ai? It's not ecchi/hentai stuff, it's the hug-and-kiss type stuff you find in Sailormoon between Michiru and Haruka. *grins* Ah, you take Flamers the same way we at IR do. Tease them mercilessly. Cute form. I'd be all psychotically happy, if it weren't for these see-through forms poping up everywhere. *Grumbles* What happened to the good old, white box forms I used to use when the EFF was around?

Reviews - You got categories? Investing... We do a few of the same reviews, but with different opinions. You like splash pages, we don't, for example. *gags* Splash pages, the most useless thing on the net when it's not announcing a frames/no frames or a pop-up layout. Can't tell if you've done more reviews that we have, the way you've got them all segreated. (did I even spell that word right? *sweatdrops*)

Reviewers - General Profile style. *sighs* Those get boring real quick. Ah, five reviewers. Nice experience on ya. I know I for one was never truly considered a reviewer until I helped Fishie with I Review way back when. Before, I was just some nosy chick who complained about website layouts...

Flames - I'm sure you all know why I was here... mwhehehehehehe... *pauses for a moment, then blinks, then:* Man, Hitomi, you get some dumbass people flaming you, don't you?

Oh, hey, there's nothing left for me to review. Whoo! Fanfiction.net here I come! *grins widely* Sorry, I'm a bit weird today. I think it's the four hours of sleep...

Ooo…Van and Hitomi, one of my favourite anime couples next to Haruka and Michiru that is. Yes this splash page is actually necessary (a rare thing in today’s modern website world). The layout and splash are pretty; but then again my opinions might be influenced for my love of the couple. I don’t see why you need to list the fact that “Hitomi owns this site” three times in different ways. All of the requirements for becoming a reviewer are well laid out but making it a requirement for people to have AIM is ridiculous, if you think that e-mailing is too much of a hassle, then you shouldn’t have a review site. I never have enough time to chat when I am online, so even though I have AIM and Instant Messenger I’m never on. Besides that, it’s possible that your reviewers will not be on at the same time you are.
I’m glad you warn against the fact that you’re a harsh reviewing site, that’s a practicality that the non-sugar coaters should all post. I really think that people who use pre-made layouts should be asked to come back when they’re own layout is up, considering that you are allocating 20/30 points for a pre-made layout. I don’t think you should give or take away so many points for the existence of a disclaimer. I also disagree with the fact that you give five points for not having stolen content (how stupid is that) sites that steal should get zero points and sites that don’t steal should be the expected norm.
The how you grade section is a little long, I know you want viewers to know exactly where points are coming from but reading this much for a review is ludicrous. I like the way you organize your reviewed sites, under the headers, “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly”. Restricting reviewers in their reviewing style is stupid. You shouldn’t allocate 5 points just for the existence of a disclaimer. I bet Hitoshi Doi doesn’t even have disclaimers (but don’t quote me on that) and yet they own the best shoujo encyclopedia on the web. Your reviews are okay; you seem to give in to the occasional bout of sugar coating. I just don’t like how the reviewers are so restrained in their style due to the fact that they have to review a certain way. The awards were actually nice looking, ones I would be proud to put up on my site because they aren’t just a cropped image with text overlaid on the top. There was actually some effort put into these awards. I’m glad you take the time to point out thieves when they are caught, in a way it will encourage people to put up credits to avoid being put on such a page. It astounds me how anyone would allow sites to be reviewed under the pretences that so many points must be given for this, that and the other.
I dislike how the “about the reviewers” was simply set up in profile form with no write-ups from the reviewers themselves.
You already had the awards section in the reviews section, so why is it on the main menu. I don’t need to see the awards two times.
Every WPR has the same site tips, get something original, it’s pretty obvious that no-one likes errors in Java script. This is just a suggestion, but you said what keeps your interest on a site are articles of opinion, so maybe you should put up some. The responses to the flames weren’t extremely well done, many of the reviewers tended overuse words such as dumbass (but then again that’s what a lot of flamers are). The second page of Triple Dot’s flames was dead.
Everything seemed organized in the site stuff section, with 88x31 buttons and “I Review” gasp linked; but then again I kind of expected that since this is a WPR. It looks like your past layouts were just as nice as the current one. Overall: What can I say…this isn’t an overly original WPR. Put up some articles, take the restrictions off your reviewers and start responding to your flames in more witty ways then “dumbass”. The only thing I was impressed with was how the reviews were organized under the headers “the good, the bad and the ugly” and the layout, but even that took forever to load.
From,
Kaioh Michiru

Let me start off by saying that the girl in the layout looks like a man. Now that I have that off my chest, I'll move along. Your layouts have always been way too busy in the past and were really annoying. I like this one. It's simple and not distracting. Good job, you get a gold star. I really like how you list how many reviews you have in waiting on the main page. You don't really need to include how many you've done or how many reviewers you have, but if you feel that is neccesary, then um...whatever.
Ha ha . I love the first rule you guys have. "You must have a website" Of course they would have a website to be submitting, what would they submit to you if they didn't? Aren't we picky in what we review? Ah well, it is your site, so you make up the rules. I suggest making a more organized list of what series you do review, otherwise people will just skip right over it. While you're at that, you might also want to make them bolded. That way, they're sure to see them.
Your profiles are very long. You need to shorten them. No one cares what anime you like, where you live, what your sign is, or when your birthday is. And the graphics editor one really needs to go too. Just get to the point and list the facts of their connection, what they like and don't like, their e-mail, and their site. It's a pain to scroll all the way through your list of five people with such long profiles.
Your reviews are harsh. Some are rather thin in help though. Most of you go in depth and actually show how to fix the problems and so on. I can't really complain about the way you review, personally, it makes me laugh. I like it. Mean is funny. You either like it, or you don't. That explains why you have so many flames, you lucky people. We're mean too, and we don't have as many as you do...
A lot of your reviews are too short. Maybe you should have more than one person review them, or go more in depth in your reviews. You split up the categories and in total you have maybe about three paragraphs per review. Not enough. You must write more.
Your web tips were all pretty much to the point. Nothing special here. You should add in some extras, like articles, rants, you know, more fun stuff to read. You guys are a hilarious group and work hard to keep your site up. I only have a few suggestions for you:
a change in layouts (something other than a pop up with a busy layout)
more content (article wise)
getting rid of the man-ish looking girl in your layout, she really bothers me!!!
longer reviews. Have more than one person review a site, or just have that one person review a lot more.
~Diana

I have been here many times before. Finally, a splash page that is useful. The layout takes longer then normal to load. Gack. The blue links are hard to read on the left side. Uh why did you put "This WPR is run by Hitomi" then put "This WPR and layout are © to me, Hitomi. This WPR was opened by Hitomi on January 18th 2002." You only need one. Not both, say it with me now, one. The links turn lighter when you put your mouse over it? You need to make them all darker. Onto the About section. It's Web Page Reviewer, not Web Page Review. You give out 5 points for now having stolen content? How stupid is that? I mean, people shouldn't be given points for not having stolen content. That just should be a good thing, not something to give points too. WOAH. Your rules are very very long. Too long. You need to have a 'What we review' page instead of putting it all onto one rule. It takes up way too much room. Please make sure your links work shouldn't be a rule, that's common sense. If the links don't work, more fun for you. I don't know why you bother to put the link us rule, since most people you have reviewed don't do it.

You need to update the About section, since you have two new sections. Thieves and Dead. Those don't really belong in a reviewing section. If they are dead and you didn't get to review them, don't state it to the whole world. No one really cares if it is dead or not. Usagi, you use too many faces, and you sugar coat a little, and the reviews are pretty short. Why do I say you sugar coat? Because I looked over some of your reviews, and as an example, your review for A Hint Of Romance, look at it, it is sugary in some parts and you didn't seem to review a lot of the site, and it's not my site, I just reviewed it before. Ack. Some of your reviews have side scrolling, which I hate so much. It's because you use too many italics you can't do that with a frame that small. I would know. You have many reviewers, but I only see two reviewers reviewing, Usagi and Hitomi, what's up with that? You already have the awards link on your reviews page, you don't need it twice. Geez.

Your tips are helpful, somewhat, but you should space it out more. Broken link, Tripledot’s second flame is down. More side scrolling in the flames, you mustn’t use italics with such a small frame. Get a bigger frame, and the side scrolling will go away. Your link colors are too light! Darken them, I can't read the names of the other WPR's you listed. *Points* Wee! There we are! Nice you have a credits page.

Well I am finished. This WPR isn't better then most others. No originality, but I don't really look for that, it would just be nice to find a site that actually has some. You need to work on the link color, and Usagi, stop with all the faces. They get annoying after the 20th time.
