Theme: Anti-Anime
Now, don't look at me funny when you read the theme and site title. That's what the form I received said. Sure, it's a stupid title. Sure, it's a stupid theme. But that's what it is.
First, this splash is not only unnecesary (i'm not even going to bother fixing that) and ugly. The image is too big, the writting everywhere is ugly, the red is ugly blah blah. The layout of this site looks like the author wants it to look a certain way, doesn't know how to do it, so they used the simple code they know to fake it. sheesh. Reading the introduction..sheesh. There is a HUGE difference between liking the manga and being a farkin' JERK to the anime. Yes, I myself can barely stand to watch the NA anime. Yes, there is a lot of filler but the reason for that is to the anime and manga plot were coming out at around the same time. When the manga comes out every month and the anime is every day or so, you really do NEED filler. It's also important to remember the anime was for children.
I didn't spot the links on top of the image at first. You should make navigation more clear. What the heck are you doing reviewing sites anyway? You look like me! Black background, colour identification...A THEME?! Does anyone else sense this person kinda copies IR? or is that just my over-inflated ego?
Your grading system sucks. I could have all your requirements and still make a really crappy pointless site. Also, the age of a site means dick-all, or nada, or a wooden nickel. Go see this week's other review, that site is young but it's fantastic. What the heck does that last thing mean? Linked to the WWW? It could mean that there is a "WWW" in the adress or that the site has started advertising, or it is just jibberish. Why the hell do you have that stupid 'report a broken link' thing on every page? Link it once somewhere and that's it. You don't have any reviews yet so why do you even have this section at all?
Pictures-the only "slow" people I can think of are those of lower intelligence. I'm pretty sure you mean slow connections. Don't insult people just cause they don't have a cable modem. Get rid of the 'coming soon', no one cares. These aren't even real thumbs! You make a big deal of it and then you don't even know how/are too lazy to make real thumbs! You also have two pictures that are the same but are different sizes. That's so ..lame. Anyway, I hate this method of organization. The colours here also suck. None of these pictures are original. You better have a really long credits section! There is a broken one in group. Why would I need a link back to the picture home? A link to the main page is what I need!
What do these colour codes have to do with Sailor Moon manga? geez. Anyway, this whole thing is stolen from here: http://www.htmlgoodies.com/tutors/cc.html which is where I get my own colour codes. It's really pointless to have this on your site when it's already somewhere popular. duh. Also, what is it with those cute hearts (by Lycentia) all of a sudden?
uhm, your navigation is very dumb. the section marked updates is half-way through the nav, and then it takes me to the 'why' of your site. I'm halfway through my review and I've yet to find more than one 'opinion' besides the anime sucking. Get over it! So what if a few episodes suck, cherish the ones that don't. Oh, there are the updates at the bottom. What a weird set-up.
You should flip the order of 'link me' because no one uses banners anymore. The buttons are very pretty.
I don't like the links page at all. There are no summaries and everything looks jumbled.
Your gb.uhm. sucks. It looks really bad, get a different provider and get people other than your friends and ads to sign it.
Overall, this is one of the most pointless sites I've visited in a while. It had asolutely no content worth seeing. The webmistress claims to be oppinioated on the suckage of the anime but doesn't do anything with it. There is A LOT you could do on that subject, such as a very long article, ep guides, manga information, differences between manga and anime, etc! You might as well delete everything, get a work ethic and start over.
Man, why do I keep forgetting to do these until the last minute? Oh... right. I've been working on my webpage again. Makes sense...
Splash - Picture doesn't really go with the background. Not only that, but the splash is uuuuuuuseleeeeeeeessssssss. I do believe I've pounded that into people's heads a good hundred thousand times now. *cheerful smile*
Layout - Pretty basic table layout. That little rant you have right up front probably turns a number of the freaky dubbies away first thing (that is, if they bother to read it before they klick on the links.) Again, image does not match the layout background color, and looks, to me, kinda stupid to have pale pink on a brown background. You really shouldn't have all the text different sizes either, 'Pictures' looks like it happens to the be the title of the site with how large it is, and the rest just looks silly, scattered all about like that.

Pictures - Ahhh! Sudden change of layout! Bad! Bad! Holy shit that's a lot of pictures. Oh, wiat, I've got nearly that many on my hard drive. Ignore the random shouts of swear words. I'm not going to check all the pictures, there's way to many, so I'll just check the Pluto ones since I'm reading a Pluto-fic while doing this review. A fair number of "traditional" pictures (Ahem, ones seen everywhere) But there are a few I haven't seen before. Nice. I hope all the other image selections are like that, sicne I'm not going to check them out.
Reviews - You really have to stop changing the layout, M'dear. I take it you haven't been Reviewing long? You have no reviews, and it's just a one page-two page deal going on. And saying "then I get really mad if you don't take care of it" is just inviting people to flame you. *grins* Of course, We being I Review, our mere presence invites people to flame us, now don't it, Fishuu? *cackles for a good... eight hours* Most people would prefer to use a form instead of having to email the reviewer with all that info. And the text is kinda hard to read on the dark background. Maybe you should make the text the color of the links and the links a different color.
Hex Color codes - Correction, I've used the hex codes without the # sign before, and they work juuuuuust fine. Again, text is to dark for the background, it's really hard to read. I had to select everything just to do so. Nice collection of colors and whatnot. I, personally, just pop open Corel Wordperfect, open their blank webpage template, use fonts/background and play with the color palette to find the color I need. Works wonders when you're trying to match a background to the page's main image's background.
And that's about it. Advice? DON'T CHANGE THE BLOODY LAYOUT FOR EVERY BLOODY PAGE!!! Ahem. Pinpong-chan says I need to calm down. I will go now.
Hurrah, a Manga SM site, let's see what there is to review. Splash: Eek…I like the image, but it isn’t edited at all and is insanely huge! Have you ever heard of cropping? I don’t see why there’s even a point for the splash page to be here. Scrap the splash page. You could’ve at least picked nicer font to go on the splash image, if you picked anything plainer than it would be Times New Roman. Graphics are supposed to be aesthetically pleasing and yours are a far cry from that.
Main: Really, I wondered if a site called “Manga*Universe-SM” would be “about the Manga of Sailor Moon”. How am I supposed to trust someone’s opinion about the Anime of Sailor Moon when they can’t even spell, you may think your cute by putting down “luv” instead of love but it’s just annoying and it makes you look stupid. You constantly restate that your site is about only the Manga of Sailor Moon in various ways. Your opinion about the Anime should be in a separate section and should be elaborated on in the form of an article. I do not agree with your opinion of the Anime, since you own the English and therefor censored versions of the comic books, then I guess I can safely assume that all the Sailor Moon you watch is also the English version and thus I don’t see how your opinion could be entirely valid (I do respect your opinion you just have a one sided perspective on the issue). Now that I’ve got that off my chest I’ll continue. The picture you used on the layout is nice, but the layout is ugly, you just placed random bits of texts of various types all over the layout, to create an ugly menagerie that looks like a hideous old quilt. I can’t face the fact that you defiled one of my favourite Manga pictures of all time.
Pictures: Why is this a completely different layout? Okay I just went from burgundy and red to black and purple. Organizing the pictures into thumbnail and text is a good idea. In your intro you state that the text is for “slow people”, it’s not people who are slow (unless you’re trying to insult them) it’s their computers. You don’t even use real thumbnails, the pictures load about as fast as a snapping turtle who’s trying to back away from a nuisance instead of fighting it off (I actually have a funny story about that, but I won’t get off topic). For the text links, some of the descriptions are spelled wrong and on the bottom of the Sailor Moon text links page you have thumbnails. If you’re going to make a site about the Manga then make a site about the Manga! I know you said that you had a few Anime pictures on the main page, but if your intent is to spread the word about how great the Manga is and how much the Anime sucks then it’s hypocritical of you to even think of putting up anything relating to Anime. You have lots of pictures but no credits and no way to get back to the main page from the gallery.
Reviewing: Now the site has changed to green and black, I love the ever changing colour scheme (rolls eyes). This doesn’t belong on a Manga site! Get some common sense into your brain; reviewing has nothing to do with Manga unless you are reviewing the Mangas, not websites. (starts brewing in her own contempt) Um…right…why are you looking for “at least two pictures” on the sites you review? The “what you look for” is vague and the grading system is crud. The word "whether" is spelled wrong, why is it necessary for an applicant to say how long their site has been up? There isn’t even a form here. What a surprise, there are no reviews, could it be the inconvenience of not having a form? Or maybe just the fact that it looks like you have no idea how to review?
Hex Colour Code: Why in hells name do you have this here. It’s completely pointless. HTML sites were made for this purpose. And yet again the colour scheme shifts to black and red. There’s no back button, and this is just a big pointless table (scatch that, not pointless, just pointless on your site).
Updates: At least you have a why section here. Spelling errors are very much evident. Updates are a good thing to see though, and they’re very elaborated updates. Each new version of a layout is supposed to be a different number. For example if I took down the layout I have now (Version 4.0), and replaced it with a new one, then the next layout would be 5.0. If I edited my current layout then it would be Version 4.1.
Link Me: Uh..huh, so now the page is orange and yellow. Ever heard of a colour scheme? I guess not. Glad you have standard sized buttons. You have a banner with an Anime picture on it though. For a supposed Anime hater you have a lot of Anime stuff on your site. And stop saying stupid abbreviations like “thx”, that type of language is for chatrooms and maybe blogs, but it should be avoided altogether.
Links: Back to the purple and black now. The warning is hardly necessary; it’s just annoying. Check your links periodically. I have a huge list of favourite sites on Herbal Tea and I check it every few months. Free-for-all linking people by manually adding them is a pointless endeavor, just link the sites you truly enjoy. No back button here either.
Overall: Where’s the big long article about why you like the Manga more than the Anime? What inspired you to make this site (other then the fact that you obviously love the Manga more than the Anime)? I don’t recall seeing any original content on this site. Sure…you could argue there’s lots of pictures, but no credit. I’m totally willing to accept the fact that someone thinks the Anime “stinks”, but that issue should be addressed in a more mature fashion. The number or spelling mistakes drove me to insanity and there was nothing to do, I was bored out of my mind. There’s nothing here that will held my interest for more than a few seconds.

Well, this site was down almost every single time I tried to view it. The first few times, the bandwidth had been consumed. The next few,it couldn't find the page. I saw your site once. Hated the layout. The picture of Raye is pretty, but the text on it is too large and ugly. I tried clicking on the pictures link, but your bandwidth had been consumed again. Sorry there is nothing more from me. Switch servers and this won't be a problem.

The nav picture looks like it was done in MSpaint, the letters are jagged and the use of different fonts just screams "I got a new toy". That picture of Rei is far too nice to be plastered with aliased text of random fonts.
Pictures are decent. Layout's nice, but it doesn't fit the rest of the site. Actually, no. Everything sort of fits, except the intro / rant page.
These thumbnails are taking forever for me to load.
Hey, any credit for these pictures? If you scanned them yourself, say so! Otherwise, give people credit.

You don't need a #-link for the "Why" section. It's the first thing anyone sees. It would be better at the bottom, when the viewer is past both sections.

Descriptions on links are good. As are titles. If all these links had both, things'd be perfect, there.

An ugly one at that, brown? Can't you make it match the picture? This is a time
where I actually have to admit pink would be better. Please, no one cares if
this is version 1.6, I mean, there is no difference. AOL have versions because
it actually changes, not just the layout, but the content. This webpage
is not AOL (thank goodness), it's a darn Sailor moon fan page!
Okay, now that I've clicked on your over sized enter image, I am apauled to
realize that your layout is worse than your splash page. They both have the same
exact picture! Couldn't you make the splash image a small cut out of the layout
image? It would look so much nicer. I also recomend a thin black border. Like
I've said before, the layout wouldn't be that bad if the background matched the
side image. But it doesn't, it sort of... sits there. The black border I
recomended would make it look more neat at least. And the large black 1.6 is so
incredably ugly that it scares little children. The change in fonts on the image
isn't that bad, it looks nice, and I think I have the program you used to make
the picture. So if you don't know how to do what I've suggested, you can email
me and I'll tell you.
The font of you webpage is ugly, suggest you find an HTML book and find out how
to change your font from the horrid Times New Roman to something more attractive
like Arial.
Having your email address at the bottom like that is way to un-noticable. At the
end of your intro, where you signed is a nice place for your email address. And
instead of saying this page is copyrighted to you, you should say that it's
copyrighted to Naoko, she did created Sailor Moon didn't she?
Your introduction stinks, it's a huge, misspelled rant on how the anime version
of Sailor moon sucks. Please, maybe you could get a rants section? I don't know,
it'd help I guess.
